The “Mystic Chapel” is a charming, historic building located in the small townsite of Mystic, South Dakota, nestled deep within the Black Hills. Surrounded by scenic landscapes and close to the tranquil flow of Castle Creek, the chapel stands as a testament to the area's rich heritage and enduring spirit. This special site holds personal significance for Jon Crane and his wife Gail, who were married there on March 5, 1993. It has inspired several of Jon’s paintings that capture both its beauty and its place in local history, including “A Magical Morning”, “Mystic Dreams” and “Snowy Sanctuary”.
