“Montana Ranch”

"Montana Ranch" is located along Flat Creek Road, about fifteen miles from the small town of Augusta, Montana. Situated along the Lewis Range of the Rocky Mountain Front near Bean Lake and the Scapegoat Wilderness area, this watercolor depicts a hay harvest, with large round bales stored near big red barns and other ranch buildings. The scene captures the understated beauty of the rural northern plains through careful attention to place and atmosphere.
