As you travel north from Mystic, SD on the Mickelson Trail you will pass through a tunnel that has been dedicated to Jon Crane in appreciation for his generosity to the development of the trail. The first train to pass through this tunnel was in 1889 when the Chicago, Burlington & Quincy Railroad entered the Black Hills and established a station at Mystic. Walking or bicycling through the old tunnel brings a “Passage Through Time” where things will never be the same.
