When you visit Sylvan Lake, you will find 17 acres of peaceful waters placed in harmony with granite rock. When the creek of Sunday Gulch was dammed in 1881, a lake was created which has been photographed more than any other lake in the Black Hills. This view is frequently enjoyed during a wedding ceremony at Sylvan Lake Lodge. A reflection of the surrounding stone as Jon depicted in this watercolor, can be found on Sylvan Lake in the early morning hours.
