ROGER MYERS

After being a contractor in Carlisle, PA, Roger Myer moved to South Dakota in 1998. He worked for The Badlands National Park for 18 years, during that time meeting his lovely wife, Deb. After he retired, they moved to the Black Hills. As they explored the Black Hills, they were reminded of the unique beauty in fallen trees that were scorched by forest fires through the years. With Roger’s love for woodworking, he is inspired to make natural crafts and bowls from the beautiful wood that God created for him to use. He makes a variety of unique designs, to include his fence post ducks and bowls. The hand-crafted ducks are created from weathered South Dakota prairie fence post. Most are red cedar wood, no two are alike, and over 100 years old. His hand-crafted bowls are made from dead tree stumps of the Black Hills. The burn marks are from forest fires that occurred through the years. Every bowl is different with unique features.
