One drizzly summer day, Jon and Gail headed toward Buckhorn, WY, for Jon to gather material to paint the Hooks Ranch, a place already featured in an earlier piece, “Vision of Winters Past.” The cloud cover and drizzle continued until they arrived and Jon opened the truck door. The sun burst forth, as if begging Jon to paint this scene of magnificent color.
